Revising the approach to care services within the older population of South Africa
Welcome to Project Scaffold
Project Scaffold provides a restructuring and improvement forum within which members can share, review and apply strategies to move toward Person-Directed Support, involving all stakeholders. The main objective is to develop home-like environments that are person-centred and more affordable. We, like many countries abroad, believe that hospital-like care needs to make way for person-focused care. Project Scaffold hopes to facilitate the sharing of best practices within the sector throughout the duration of the project.
This project provides opportunities to:
Reduce the
cost of care
Residential Care facilities providing frail care are experiencing enormous financial pressure.
Share best
practices
This project is an opportunity for sharing of best practices and for collaboration, for the good of the sector. To learn from each other.
Focus on person-directed support
The residential care sector/industry both locally and abroad is shifting away from medical/hospital like environments to affordable and person-directed support.

Project Scaffold Process
Specific steps have been identified individual participating organisations to consider following.
Meet the team
Project Scaffold was born over many conversations between Syd Eckley and Rob Jones, wanting to find solutions to the many challenges facing the long-term care sector. true2you joined the team in 2021.
We all believe the sector has the potential to find better options and solutions when we share and have conversations about what is most important to us all – the dignity and wellbeing of older individuals in a sustainable sector.
